Keep up the good work, Karen. The problem of teacher abuse is only getting worse now with not only NCLB but the horrible Race to the Top bribery scheme which seeks to gut what few protections teachers have.
To NV_teacher: I was wrongly terminated at WCSD in 2008 and had a rigged hearing and could not afford to sue this horrible district. I know the district, like so many others, has horrible principals who get away with murder while destroying teachers\' lives in order to protect these creeps and incompetents. I am not an attorney, but I cannot see how in the world you can get access to any administrator\'s file, much less a \"sealed\" file. There is a reason why it is called \"sealed.\" I could have had my file \"sealed,\" too, for a piddling 10K in return when I asked about settling my termination which was totally bogus in the first place, but I am glad I ultimately decided against it. I received far more in UI compensation that I ever would have received in a stupid \"settlement.\" And taking a settlement in my case wouldn\'t have helped me secure a job anywhere else. I didn\'t do anything wrong to deserve being fired; the principal, who now works in another school, should have lost her job and her license for her complete negligence and incompetence. If you really are certain about this principal\'s misconduct, perhaps you could put a bug in the school board\'s ear about it, although almost all of them have had prior school district connections. The media is a possibility, but I tried that, and there was no response.

I was wondering how you get information from an administrator\'s sealed records? I have been harrassed for the past year by an administrator. This admin. transferred from another county and his records state he \"quit\" and they are sealed, but I know his tainted past. He was previously a High School Vice Principal that got a student pregnant. Instead of firing him, they gave him an opportunity to \"quit\" and have his records sealed so he could find work elsewhere. He now works as a high school principal in my school and I\'ve dealt with non-stop harassment until he had me fired. Unfortunately, he doesn\'t know I know his past...how do I prove it?

Recently, I discovered there is a new game in town and their looking for players. In the state of CA, SB496 was adopted in 2006 which was originally titled "No Dollar Left Behind" as a companion to "No Child Left Behind". In a nutshell, it charges participating school district a fee to play this game. After they enter into this Faustinian Agreement, they can double bill for services provided to kids in special education or receiving like services. The monies are reimbursed with Federal Funds and is supposed to go back into special education, but of course it does NOT. The state keeps 50% right off the top before dibbying out the rest. There is no focus on quality of education, ONLY on recruiting kids into the program because they are "Revenue Generators" and third party vendors that provide services for navigating and billing codes is paid up to 20% of total. As you can see, there is much incentive to rope in the kids, provide lots of inappropriate testing and assessments (that's where the big money is) by vendors that are District Sweethearts that enter into these agreements (very secretive)with Non-Competitive bids. The special education system is being over-populated with kids who really don't need the services, while the kids who DO need the services are getting a watered down, generic template education despite their needs. In the meantime, the local consortias and agencies are laughing all the way to the bank bankrolled by sacrificing our kids education. This crazy INSANE.

Vinni Biancalana is still at it! She is ruining teacher reputations with lies and false accusations at the School of St. Mary. What she is doing is criminal. And at a Christian school, outrageous it is allowed to continue.

Where can I find guidelines that explain what constitutes teacher abuse in the court of law? Personally, I have accumlated pages and pages of unreasonable requests from administration, concerns about age discrimination, examples of brow-beating tactics used by administration, incidents where I have caught the principal and assistant principal in lies, and proof as a first hand witness to the principal setting two teachers up to fail so she could fire them. I have been asked to do things that are clearly in conflict with ethics and have refused. Thus, I am now the target. I would like to see a list of types of discrimination and the details of those cases that have had successful outcomes. I deeply appreciate any help you can give me.

Greetings,
Thanks so much for writing a book on this subject; it floored me to see the title as it\'s so appropo.
Did you cover all the tactics such as subtle meta-communications games and setups?
Good luck with your book and I hope it goes ballistic; the problem here will be some of these crimes are a result of \'upper\', in money only, putting out a sort of contract for your kid as a result of some perceived wrong doing on your part. This is outrageous behavior and when I listened to SVALI on youtube it all made sense.
This is particularly bad in the very wealthy areas where some actually pimp their kids out for this purpose.
These can be very sophisticated crimes against children.

All I can say is \"WOW!\" The stuff on this website is exactly what I have thought I was just being paranoid about in my own district. You have truly crystallized the situation that is going on right where I teach. I am very interested in learning more about your book after stumbling on your website.
It does me good to see that someone has the guts to call them on it.

You are a true soldier and I admire you. I\'m so sorry you went all the way to the Supreme Court with no resolution. I am willing to help you expose White Collar or Chalk Crime. I remain terribly hurt by the loss of my job after years of teaching with no recognition of my services for appointment and tenure with Excellent evaluations. We need massive support to be heard. The Constitution allows freedom of speech but we are only heard in numbers. We have to approach Congress in numbers. Hundreds to thousands of teachers were displaced during the 2003-2007 contract year at CPS. We need their support or we\'ll continue to be recognized as the underclass and not professionals. Our rights will also be denied unless we start a Teacher Revolution. The law is straight forward in our favor. We just need support. Administration has figured out how to stop our tenure. We have to figure out how to regain our Constitutional rights.

Does anyone here teach in Philly?
Do you know that the Philly School District has a 50 percent drop-out rate?
That\'s a lot of money and federal tax-dollars going down the drain...
If you think this is wrong...write to Senator Specter and Senator Casey and ask them what they are going to do about it...
I say the drop out rate is do to incompetence and corruption...
