I am delighted to see someone speaking out against the injustices of the public school system in NYS. I live on LI and worked in NYC for NYCBOE as a teacher and was abused on all levels by Administrators and some of the students who were completely unscreened as Freshmen and permitted to come to school armed and with electronic devices and nothing was done when a student pointed a laser pen beam in my eye, even when identified. I was falsely accused of saying things I never said, and was harassed by false testimony from a self proclaimed bipolar student, terrorized and attacked by her as her \"raging\" episode target as she held the class hostage and no one came when I sent students out whenever possible to get help. The AP Cruz said he forgot to tell the AP Vitolo, and the list of GROSS NEGLIGENCE included the Principal and the other APs, Melkonian and others. It was system-wide. Much more like fleas biting me and students from the mice infesting the school. You name it! Then I was given an illegal and dishonest official observation that was in direct violation of the UFT contract because I was denied my right to a Pre-Observation and it was full of lies and distortions in retaliation for being injured and attacked in other classes due to the administrators\' negligence \"GROSS NEGLIGENCE\" and I applied to transfer in the open market and was brutalized for it by Ms. Esmilla, the corrupt former gym teacher who knew nothing of modern education methods. She put my lesson in a false light, lying about the lesson\'s content and student engagement, she distorted and lied and then attached the AP\'s illegal \"observation\" which I protested, as substantiation to her own. I was then given a \"U\" after she complemented my blog for students and my lessons and my encouragement with students and after she expressed concern that it embarassed her that I had posted a message to students, warning them to wear thick socks and not to try to sneak any food intot he computer lab or they\'s increase the problem of rodent infestation with their fleas and disease. I nearly lost my ankle/leg due to the infection caused by it and provided the Line of Duty injury report from the doctor and have provided all of the documents and was then railroaded and harassed after doing and outstanding job with constant oppression and unreasonable demands and lack of response and actual civil rights violations including being denied Due Process. I won in the situation related to the lies the girl who attacked me told, she was not met with consequences for the false testimony and students who stole from my bag, markers and wrote tags on the board and wall were not censured. The dean said it was okay to go to class and did not give them consequences. I was alarmed and demanded action and was told the dean \"Ms. Cruz\" didn\'t have the statement I submitted that I saw handed directly to her and she read in that office, while I was there and I got the copy. I had to go back and give another statement. She destroyed it in her shredder as I saw her shredding such documents on that evening. She never acted on the theft and tagging incident. I was told there weren\'t enough deans, not enough staff and many incidents were occurring, including later eggs thrown from the hallway in the basement into an accounting/math class, destroying property and an \"inside job\" . Violence and threats on the elevator I had to use that was taken over by students, denial of my lunch period with repeated demands for me to cover for the APs buddy. The AP not even a business teahcer and yet headed the dept. over me?! Crazy stuff! Criminals who should be investigated immediately by Special Investigations for schools.

Hello: I have taught French for two decades. Our administration went to China this year to recruit a Chinese Teacher. They then went about recruiting students to fill Chinese classes. They were ruthless in their recruiting; students in special ed., students with low grades, high grades, convincing them to leave French or Spanish. Now they (the administration) receive a \"star\" for having Chinese as well as full classes. It didn\'t matter that they are setting part of these kids up for failure. What matters is the additional star in their column. I am very angry. This is the tip of the iceberg. AmeliaM
