Everything I am about to say is true...it is not earth-shattering but if you analyze it, you can see that there is something wrong with this picture, in our city of Philadelphia... The Philly School District has acquired two sculptures from the City of Philadelphia that were for many years, in front of the Youth Services Center - a place for troubled youth. However, the building and sculptures were on some of the primest real-estate in the City of Philadelphia, across from the Franklin Institute and near the Art Museum. The sculptures were rendered by Waldemar Raedisch, who is a well-known 1930's era sculptor, who escaped the Third Reich, in part, because his wife was Jewish. He forged two sculptures: one called "Doctor" and the other called "Mother." In order for the sculptures to be moved to a new location, they had to be cut in parts. Now, why would the city - these are city owned, public artworks - why would the city place two moderately well-known and massive sculptures, in front a Philly school in a relatively remote location, where they could be vandalized? The Philly School District is not a good steward of public art. They allow their schools to be in poor and unsafe condition, many of which house artwork or architectual florishes. The district has currently stored millions of dollars worth of artwork which it refuses to allow inspection by the city! Placing those sculptures at the "School of the Future" is wrong. The art is public art and should not be used to embellish school district property. Let them take care of the schools they already have. They don't. That is why Waldemar Raedisch's artwork should have remained on the Ben Franklin Parkway, near the Rodin Museum and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. I would welcome a reply... Jan Sklaroff

Thank G'd for this "Underground Railroad" to overtake the Criminals who are oppressing highly skilled professional teachers as a sport. Since signing up I have been put in touch with people who've been helpful and sympathetic, with similar experiences in the NYCBOE and on LI and in Chicago. It is a national epidemic of sanctioned abuse of teaching professionals and the implementation of civil and human rights violations on such a scale that Workers in China and in Sweatshops of the past seem like respites to the weary, abused educators, like myself. Broken with illness and disillusion, I will fight from outside alongside you! Get the word out! Buy the books, send them to legislators, members of the media, everyone you know who can do something to exact change. This is a civil rights movement, a drive to the freedom trail for change.

I am the Michigan State Coordinator for the Workplace Bullying Institute Legislative Campaign. I am working, along with other Coordinators across the country to introduce and pass legislation on workplace bullying. As a retired teacher who was in public education for 30+ years, I am well aware of what goes on behind closed doors at school. Please check out Workplace Bullying Institute on the web and help spread the word about workplace bullying. You may contact me through this site should you desire. Thank you so much. I am very anxious to read this book and compare it to my own findings!
